Large Volumme Printing - desperate help!!

Please can someone help, I tried posting this in christmas but got no replies.
We have just been let down at the last minute by a chap who was producing our fundraising calendar for springer spaniel rescue.
He did last years so we had no worries but he has vanished and we cant contact him so I need to produce 120 calendars in about a week.
I need a printer thats not too expensive that had the capacity for continuous ink and also the best price matt photo paper.
Found a chap that will bind them for 60p each, if anyone can think of a cheaper option??
Ideally I have about £300 to spend all in as thats what we normally paid Neil, about £2.80 a calendar.
The photo's are all ready and I have found a programme from adding the dates etc??
please help or we are in big trouble??
any other suggestions appreciated

  • Have you actually tried going to an actual printing shop (they do flyers, calendars etc for local businesses) as they are normally quite good. Also having all the equipement they should easily be able to fill your order within a week.

When I was at school our local printing shop gave discounts to us, so yours may do the same since it's a fundraising calendar.

They also bind and can offer different printing options to fit in your budget. They are the best place to try before attempting printing yourself followed by binding else where. The machines can print and bind saving a lot of time/hassle and hopefully money. Not to mention doing it yourself for the first time may result in problems so it's better to let someone else do it who knows what to do.

Give it a try, but don't tell them your budget till they give you a price as I am sure £2.80 for each calendar is a bit steep and they should be producing them a lot cheaper.

If you know anyone thats good at putting on the charm take them with you, epsecially those good at haggling or easy on the eye (as it will probably be a guy at the counter) ;)
  • I aggree with above - if you go to a printer they will probably do you discount especially if they can have their details in a prominent place!
Also I know someone was doing them on Ebay but not sure if they are any good or trustworthy but may be worth contacting them!
  • thanks, so far local printers are about £500? but I am waiting on 2 more quotes, will look at ebay too

Hi. Have you about a Digital Printers?
They usually specialise in short runs. The unit price may be slightly higher than a larger volume but if you only need a small quantity, they should be able to help you out.

If you want to print them yourself get a second hand epsom C48 or R200/220
300/310/320 and a continuous ink feed system.

There's a lot on Ebay or try SVP they sell them and cheap paper or so do Big Pockets.
