Breaking news: Interest rates stay where they are

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13293991
UK interest rates have been kept at the record low of 0.5% again by the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee.
Data this week pointed to a slowdown in growth in manufacturing, construction and services, which economists took as a sign that the Bank would not change rates with the recovery still weak
This is despite the fact that inflation is currently at 4%, double the Bank's target rate.

To be honest it wouldn't make a scrap of difference to me if house prices went up or down 20% overnight. I'm not selling so what does it matter?

However, rates staying low is everything.

This is actually putting thousands in my pocket. I've bought a new car with the difference in my mortgage. I'm still overpaying as well. It's happy days for sure.

I'd rather prices dropped and interest rates stayed low for years.

No good to me knowing my house is worth X amount if I'm walking around with empty pockets. I like having the dosh in my hand now.

I'll sell when prices rise. That will only be a matter of time. Win win and you know it.

Congrats on benefiting from the emergency measure required because of the economic meltdown you never saw coming.

Low rates are still a pretty sweet deal for those who bought or are planning to buy post crash of course. ;)
