Bread???

Why is it when I make a loaf of bread in the oven, it is heavy and doughy in the middle? I've varied the baking times, the proving times, so I guess it's the ingredients?
Help please.

I used to have this problem with bread many years ago. I finally cracked it by following Delia's method - nothing very startling, but it worked. This is the recipe I use http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/plain-and-simple-white-bread,1350,RC.html

Thank you for your reply. Looking at the deliah recipie,I have been using lukewarm water and I am not kneading it enough, the ingredients are basically the same. I will have another go following the instructions carefully and see what happens. Again many thanks to you both.
