This bag is horrible quality, my sister got it but to be honest I personally wouldn't ever use it. It might have a CK tag on it but not CK quality for sure. Save your pennies!!!

To be fair though, you cannot expect a CK quality bag for the price of this magazine!!!!!

what im saying is ..if its advertised to be a CK bag then it shud be same quality as a proper one... else why not just stick any old label on it....its just a quick forgery from China....

There really is no pleasing some people on this forum! You all sound as if you're bashing Cath Kidston, when anyone would realise that the shop-bought products are super-high quality and all her bags will probably outlive me! I suggest you use the 15% off voucher to purchase a book bag from the store if the Easy Living FREEBIE isn't good enough?!

Well actually, even if it 'is' a freebie - I expect bags to be of a useable quality, not to just fall apart after one use.

Previous 'freebie' bags from various magazines have at least been of a useable quality and TBH if I were Cath Kidston, it's a bit of a rip-off, as a manufacturer making poor quality bags as freebies as purchasers who purchase 'for' the bag are bound to expect it, at very least, to be useable.
  • Funnily enough, I've just had someone comment on how lovely my bag is - I use it to carry dog treats and water bottles when out with the hound. It's pretty robust if you ask me.

It's horses for courses, Sarah. People are equally allowed to leave positive and negative feedback of their personal views and experiences - it all helps readers to build a picture of what the bag will be like and whether it will be worth it to them.

Personally I am grateful for the reviews , and after seeing the bag in a shop, I will be passing on this one.

As to whether shop bought CK products are super high quality - I am a moderate fan of CK and some of her stuff is good quality - but many items though are poorly manufactured tat, eg the pastel cutlery set at £60 was ordered and returned by a couple of my friends, who were very disappointed by the way the handles fell off after a few uses.

Personally, I have a 'proper' CK book bag and it is OK, but I am not expecting it to outlive me....:D

I agree with annie-c. I love CK stuff, but checked out the book bag on the cover of the mag and it looks very poor quality so I didn't waste the £3.70 on it. I have also found the feedback on this thread very helpful. :)

I'm the same as you - not necessarily expecting any of my CK bags to outlive me and I was a bit disappointed at how dirty they quickly become... and then also, how to wash them properly??

As a pointer for anyone - if you're ever up at the big CK shop in Marylebone High Street they often have the book bags, jewellery etc reduced a lot. This is where I got my bargains, I certainly wasn't prepared to pay full price for one of her bags. Or Ebay. The shop in Wimbledon Village is equally good, some of the more unusual prints (maybe not as popular) but good at sales time.

I also, I must say - have got some lovely earrings for myself and other jewellery as presents for others, the quality of this is good and when bought in sales is a bargain, also they tend to be 'unusual' and have had compliments from friends.

I have an oilcloth bookbag which got everyday marks inside, especially at the corners. I turned mine inside out and rubbed bio washing liquid onto the marks and left it an hour or so. Then I wrapped it in a duvet cover that also needed washing and put it in the machine so the bag was not touching the sides. I added a scoop of oxyclean powder and washed at 30 degrees and it came out fine.

I have also washed vinyl type washbags and makeup bags and even my fit flops this way. As long as they are cushioned from banging against the drum they should come to no harm.
