I know there have been loads of threads re eating in Belfast but as I'm not from Belfast I don't know where half the places are so can anyone recommend somewhere close to the Grand Opera House for a pre theatre meal?
Thanks in advance!

Hi
Bourbon is across the street and do a special pre theatre meal . Also the Opera House also have a restaurant. Europa is next door with brasserie which is nice and the Fitzwilliam Hotel on the other side for somehting a bit fancier!
Hope this helps! All within 2 min walk from Europa0 -
Thanks Deirdre, will check them out!

I have been to bourbon many times for non pre theatre and couldn't fault it but was there this week with the girls for pre theatre menu and couldn't have been more disappointed. Our problem was not with the food but the service and length of time it took to get us our food - we ended up 15 mins late for our show and that was after asking for service to be speeded up on 2 occasions. I would maybe give them a by ball if it was really busy but it wasn't. It does state on the menu that 10% service charge is added to tables over 6 but we had it added to a table of 5 - which of course wasn't paid.“A house is made of walls and beams;a home is built with love and dreams.”2012 Challenge to buy most gifts and non essentials from money made online.:money:0

It's currently on the market http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/business/business-news/bourbon-restaurant-up-for-sale-15114302.html0

I would recommend Olio's in Brunswick Street (behind the Crown Bar).0

If you like Japanese food, the Ginger Tree on Donegall Pass is only 5 minutes walk away. Recommended.0

Can't believe the service charge for a table of five, good for you not paying it mypie.
Sakura on Botanic Avenue is good, but not right beside the GOH I admit. What about the Mourne Seafood Bar beside Kelly's Cellars? It's about 5 minutes' walk away and the food is gorgeous.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I agree Olios is good value for pre theatre. www.oliorestaurant.co.uk
I would say the same about slow service at bourbon.0 -
Cheers for all the recommendations! In true money saving style we've actually booked the pre-theatre menu at Robinsons, seems great value 2 courses £11.95 and 3 courses £13.95 plus it's right across the road. Let's just hope it's nice!0
