I won an iPhone 4 bug thanks to pa2539!!!

Ok, you can ifnorte the below if you want, I was a bit confused at first but I've had help to clear it up - thought I'd leave it though just so all the following posts make sense!!

Hey guys,

I just had a phone call from a girl claiming to be from the Sun Buzz Competitions telling me that I had won an iPhone 4, and of course I was at first very excited!! But then she said it would be on an icom contract, and that they would contact me soon to get my details. Now that didn't sound quite right, but I said ok and thought I'd have a look more into it. So we hung up and I searched the forums for the competition and couldn't find anything? I searched for "sun iphone" and "buzz iphone" and couldn't find the comp.

Seems odd to me that the sun would run a comp that would require you to enter into a contract if you win, and I wouldn't usually enter one that did. Also seems odd I can't now find the comp, obviously I'll take the call from icom and try to get some more details before telling them any details, but what do people think, does it sound like some kind of scam?

Ahh cool, thanks toothfairy and big thanks to pa2539 for posting in the first place!! Really excited now, just a shame that my work pays for my phone bill anyway - so the contact won't matter to me! ha ha Hopefully I'll be able to pass the contact over to my finace or something?!

I think I must've have heard her wrong when she said "one plan" contact and heard icom! doh! Ahh well, I'm still happy! ha ha

Well done Tom. I'm glad an MSE'r won it. The lady may be discussing contract as part of the T&Cs said. Well done!

Yeah I think that must be the case - only thing is my work pay my phone bill, and having spoken to my finace she just renewed her contact! So we may not be able to use that part of the prize. Still the iPhone is enough, I'm definatly not complaining just seems a shame it won't get used!! You don't wanna know my probelms anyway, I only really quoted to say:
