Employer not changed tax code

in Cutting tax
I currently have 2 jobs, and received back in February notification of what my tax codes would be for both jobs come April. On being paid at the end of April, 1 employer has changed my code, but the other hasn't and is still taxing me on the old code. They say they have not have notification from HMRC. Would they have got this automatically when I did? If they change my code from next month, will my take home pay be backdated automatically to the beginning of the tax year or will I have to wait until next April to claim it back (it's not a great deal of money but I'm likely to have forgotton about it next year!)

What tax code was used last year for the company that said they have not received a code change notice ?
If it was 647L, then they would not receive a change notice since it is the "standard" code which should automatically be changed to 747L by the employer without having to be told to do it by HMRC - that is the procedure set by tax rules.
If the codes are not as above, then you need to phone HMRC and tell them that this employer said they have not received the tax code notice.
Once they start using the correct new code, your tax payments will be adjusted automatically by the company so that you pay the correct total tax for the year. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
When my OH was paid early April (but new tax year) his employer used the wrong code, even though he had received notification from HMRC of his correct code ....... we assumed his employer had not received notification in time, but it turns out HMRC didnt send the notification to the employer ..... after eventually getting through to HMRC they sent out new code, problem solved ..... OH's pay for May has been paid with correct code, and by the looks of it, the tax he overpaid in April has been paid back now ..... (not actually sat down and worked it out, but on first glance it looks like they have!)0

Code for last year was 167T, this year it should be BR0

If your tax code should be BR (actually, the BR code is no longer valid, it will be 0T now instead) but your employers have used 167T, it is very likely you will not have paid enough tax, and therefore cannot "claim it back".
This is because a 0T/BR code does not give any Personal Allowance whereas a 167T code would. Your employer has therefore given you some allowance and paid some of your wages 'at the nil rate' when they should not have done.
When they correct you tax code, you will probalby notice a slight increase in tax/reducion in take home pay.0 -

....
Are you sure that the BR code is no longer valid ???
The only info I have found is to use 0T in place of BR when a new employee starts with no P45 or P46 or when an employee receives a payment after leaving. I would assume that BR would still be used for 2nd jobs to get the employer to deduct tax at 20%
I got this info from here
Can you point to where your information comes from (An HMRC link if possible)
