New dvd player has stolen my dvd..

I have just purchased a LCD tv with a built in dvd player from tesco`s.
I`ve put in a dvd to test the the thing & it refuses to give it back.
Any of you clever people know what my rights are regarding this..............its a new dvd film thats in there..........

bit of a long shot but has it got a very small hole on the front of it like cd/dvd drives on computers have?

I think that I would simply take it back to Tesco's, I don't think that you would need to know your rights at this point. I beleive they would help you out without a fuss.

Have you turned it off (at the mains - not just at the on/off switch) & back on again?

I had a dvd that swalleowed a disk I bought from Asda (player not disk) I took it back to adsa told them what was wrong and they gave me a refund.

Once they had given me the refund they said they would get my disc out. which basically ment they breaking the thing open and passing me the disk.

If you open it you will void the warrenty take it back get it refunded or replaced and let them sort your disk out. Also if they break the disk in doing so they can replace it at no cost to you.
