Another good deal on a very basic Dell.
Dimension 2400, 2.6GHz processor, 256MB RAM, 40GB Hard Drive, 48x CD-ROM, 17" CRT monitor, mouse, keyboard, Windows XP Home Edition.
£234 including VAT and delivery.
Go to https://www.dell.co.uk and click on "home".
Scroll down the page to the "Dell E-value" box, and enter UKDHS in the first box, and D03241 in the second. Click the arrow to the right of the box. This brings up a system for £398. Under "Support Service", change the support from the standard package to the 1 year collect and return option, then click on "update price" near the bottom of the page. You now have a £234 system ready to buy
Note, it has a built in network port, but doesn't include a modem - however you can add one in the options for an extra £17.63.
As discussed before on previous Dell deals, this is Dell's basic PC, not really intended for games etc, but it's perfectly ok for office-type work, browsing the web and email.

Good thread over at Rpoints where the same system seems to be £221 with other good deals also highlighted

Do you think the 256 MB RAM is enough for general use, or would it be worth adding another 256 MB?
(I've seen another useful posting by mrwhitelabel regarding Dell memory at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=31088&page=2. Presumably it's the 256MB DDR PC2700 NON-ECC UNBUFFERED £24.66 inc. VAT which is applicable here.)0
