Getting paid to type on internet

Have seen a company today saying you could earn money from typing on the internet. Are these companies just scamming or can you really make money from typing stuff for people over the net. I have a fast typing speed and if I can put it to some use to earn some money that would be fantastic

That depends on the ad, if there's an upfront fee, then it's generally a scam.

Most are, but if you give us a clue about the company we will tell you more.

You can make money with these typing jobs but here is what no one wants to talk about:
    • you must be able to type really fast
    • you must sign up for as many programs as possible (since payout per job is too low you want to achieve compounded effect)
    • payout is quite low

Why are these companies doing this is because it's much more easier and cheaper to outsource this "data entry" jobs then do it in house.

Another similar opportunities are online surveys. All you need to do is to fill surveys. Some take 10 minutes some even 2 hours but once again payout is not great and if you want to make any substantial money then you need to work 10 -12 hours every day - rat race.

Last time I checked an average payout for these jobs was about £0.50 - £5.

If you're looking for ways to make money then you should consider affiliate marketing. This means that you can sell other people's products for commission. You can make anywhere from 50% - 70% per sale. Lot of people are making killing on this.

If you want to start making money online then you should know this: any equation where your time = money is not good and sooner or later you'll get fed up doing whatever you do (this includes typing jobs, survey filling and so on...). This is because as soon as you stop inputting your effort and time your income will also stop.

But if you can do something where time does not equal money and you can multiply yourself then that's the best business to be in. Let me explain...

Many people make money selling e-books. Here is how this works. You need to create website (today you don't have to even know programming language) which features your e-book and you optimise your website so it floats on the top of search engines. You see, you don't have to be there to make money. Customers will find you!

I hope you've found this useful!

We talk about those all the time in here.

Could your post be driven by the fact you have your web site in your profile, and it is there to make money from affiliate programs for all the things you mention in your post?

You make a long post post telling people they can make money online, but you don't do it, you make make money from them signing up via your affiliate links.

Wow thanks Geordie Joe - you came to my rescue once again. So what advice do would you give to someone trying to make money on line?

There are two ways, either look through the tread in this forum to see if anything takes your fancy (every possible way of making money online is mentioned in here).

Or decide what you want to do and search this forum for more information.

The one thing to remember is never pay money for work online, it will be a scam.

And before you join/try to make money on a web site, check it out here first. Might save you from doing something silly, like rating articles for a couple of cents a time, only to find you can't reach the $40 payout because they stop giving you articles to rate when you reach $38.

We use a local student to type our content because we need it fast. It doesn't pay loads of money, but it keeps him in beer money. I know he earns £50-60 per week depending on how many articles he's written, which is probably ok for part time work. The thing with the internet is every man and his dog offers content/typing, some people work (overseas) for peanuts, which means it brings down overall worth of the work, although terrible English puts many at a disadvantage. I don't know about reputable companies for typists, but this is my experience for content work.

That site you've seen is not my main site. In fact I have few others sites. I'm only using it to test some SEO techniques which work very well. That long post I've written explains something that works and if you're interested knowing how to make money online then you should take it seriously.

    That doesn't make any difference.

    Neither does that.

To be honest, you haven't said anything that hasn't already been said a thousand times already on this forum.
