well done, i was lucky enough to win a trip to Rome last year, which i took at the end of feb, if you would like any info etc I'm more than happy to give you a few pointers x

as i said i won it in a comp too, we stayed in a 5* hotel near the spanish steps, everything was within walking distance to us. I would recommend doing the open top bus (same as in london) approx 20 euros each, but you can hop on and off for two days on this pass.
We sat on it for the whole loop first time (about 1 hour), you get a good idea of your bearing and a look at the well know sites.

We stayed for 3 nights and managed to do the spanish steps, trevi fountain, st peters brasilica, coleseum, roman forums, pantheon, as well as wonder round the shops (most were open till 8pm even in feb)
