An experiment in anecdotal.....

Two little experiments.

1) I'm at risk at work. Good chance I'm going to be laid off with 40% of my level being given the chance to "shine elsewhere". Been there for a good while and hopeful a good package will be agreed if it comes to it.

2) Our longstanding tenant has given notice and we're going to "test the market" by attempting to sell before we look for another tenant. Willing to pay for a small void to see how we go but if interest is poor then another tenant it will be!

I'll let you know how it is "out there".

Maybe you have the best house ever though and it'll be snapped up.

It's really obscure anecdotal when we know nothing of its age/condition/location/size.

Have you thought where you'll stick the twigs?

regarding number 1 - all the best. I had a similar experience 2.5 years ago. Then again a year ago. Fingers crossed for you.:)

regarding 2 - grrrrr! BTL scum!!!!;)

Seriously, be interesting to hear your perspective of the jobs & housing markets.:)
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Agreed it will be. I've thought about how to do it but I'm not prepared to disclose the house location because of the nutters in this forum and in case I end up keeping it. I will disclose more general stuff as and when I feel it appropriate.

Stick the twigs??? You'll have to help me there. That's a new one on me. The money?

    thanks lj and rock

Good luck old bean on both scores, as others have said.

Just a thought on the BTL. If you sell and end up with equity that may impact on any benefits you get. Possibly worth checking out the situation before you sell.

If you are given the Spanish Archer (el bow) I hope you have more luck than I did. I wouldn't wish that on anybody least if all you. If it comes to it then I'd be happy to help with your CV. I've seen a few in my time.

Where I am two got redundancy and both were earning more within a month so a nice tax free bonus.

If you might be unemployed for a while you may want to be very careful with what assets and liabilities you have as benefits appears to be a maze designed to trip up the worthy but uninitiated whilst rewarding the !!!!less who know how to play the rules.
    I think....

Thanks for the luck. Our savings already mean we wouldn't get any means tested benefits. Not sure about tax credits. I'll cross that bridge if it happens.

Thanks gen. I have thought about trying outside of my industry if I need to and may well take you up on it then.
I've done lots of recruiting in my industry so I hope I can get it right for that!

It's a (joke) sales technique. To sell a house you have to have a vase of arranged twigs. The more the better. If you have twigs in a vase then there'll be a rush to buy it. They especially enhance places that have magnolia walls and laminate flooring.

Who needs a new job? I'll be setting up by myself selling these magical twigs! :D
