Halifax crediting our account

Hi

Wondered if anyone else who has got a mortgage with Halifax has received a goodwill payment of around £3,000 and credited to our mortgage account. They have made a payment as the original mortgage offer may not have explained certain details as clearly as it could have, for which they apologise. These details relate to a cap that limits interest rates rised that are based on the Halifax Standard Variable Rate. The cap has not been applied to our mortgage and will not apply to our mortgage in the future. The Financial Services Authority are aware of this matter. We have been out of a fixed rate and on a standard variable rate from May last year. Should we accept their gesture of goodwill. Any replies would be much appreciated, thank you.
