Make my own Mario & Luigi Hats ?

Hi,

My soon to be 6 year old son is having a Mario themed Birthday Party, and I thought it would be nice for all the Kids to have a Mario or Luigi Hat.

I thought about trying to get hold of some cheap red and green baseball hats, then could make the logo out of felt and stitch it onto the hat (I'm not very good at sewing, but could just about manage with felt!). Ideally, I don't want to pay any more than £1 per hat. Has anyone seen any cheap baseball hats any where?

The other idea I had would be to try and make a hat out of cardboard (a bit like a sun visor, with elastic at the back).

Any other ideas welcome.
