Santander loan: how to set up repayments?

Has anyone recently set up a Santander loan? I'm an existing (A&L)premium direct account holder (online account) and applied for a loan online. Got it very quickly - got the money quickly (super efficient I have to say over all these bank holidays). Trouble is I cannot work out how to set up repayments - I can see that it has appeared as a payee in my DD list (with no visible date for the repayments) but I understood from the application that I was to choose a repayment date - so how would I do this?

I emailed A&L and all they could do was tell me to call an 0870 number if I wanted to discuss it.

Thanks in advance for any experiences

  • Just call the 0870 number would be my suggestion
  • Well, Woodbine - I was trying to avoid the expensive phone call!
Anyway - I'm back to answer my own question - I got a letter informing me that the DD had been set up and I was just allocated a payment date (rather than being able to choose the day the DD gets taken)
