Second Job

Hi all,
I was just wondering what people think would be a good idea for a second job for someone who is already working full time?
I work 9-5 5 day week, OH works part time hours during the week and cleans cars once a week as a second job. We have just found out that our tax credits are being withdrawn and we desperately need to find a way of supplementing our income to cover the cut.
I have applied to Lionbridge this weekend, but am hearing rumblings that they aren't currently recruiting in the uk (so why have it listed in the website?!) so am looking for other suggestions please!
I have two kids so really any second job would need to be something I could do in the evening once they are in bed (hence why Lionbridge seemed a god idea!)
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Party plan? I also work full time as well as selling pamper products/cosmetics for a well known company for the same reason as you are looking for - need the extra income!
There are lots out there and I would suggest picking one whose products you like and can relate to
Good luck

Is there much initial cost involved with things like this?0 -
Do you not mind ironing? There's a thread on how to start your own ironing business.
(I couldn't do it, I HATE ironing!)0 -

I did that last year. I have a full time job but I worked for about 16 hours a week in the local convenient store after 5pm and on weekends.
The money helped pay the bills. I left that job as I moved but I am looking for the same kind of extra work now and have been around lots of stores handing my CV.
However, something about this bothers me constantly. Basically I feel guilty for doing it. I keep thinking I am taking a job away from someone who needs it more. Afterall I already have a full time job and an income. Should I not think like that?0 -
Hi

It really depends on which company to be honest - some are lower than others and there are one or two that are no cost at all
I really do recommend that you look at ones that you genuinely have a personal interest in - you will sell more products that you are truly passionate about and believe in. Also most companies have incentives for sales which are normally free products as the reward so it's nice to get free products for doing your 'job' and ones that you will enjoy using
Good luck, I hope you find what you are looking for

No Mike, don't think like that. There are winners and losers in this world, some will find a way and others will drop by the wayside. You are only responsible for yourself and you are lucky that you have the initiative to get out there and work hard. Everyone has that capacity if they can be bothered to use it.
IlonaI love skip diving.

I agree with Ilona Mike - there also plenty of people out there who simply can't be bothered to get off their backsides and work for a living and would rather claim all the benefits they can, in which we pay for!
You feel proud of yourself - not guilty!
