Ring them to start with, note the time date and who you spoke to and file it.
If they agree to a payment plan get them to confirm it in writing. Ive got my fingers crossed for you.
Let us know how you get on won't you.
Good luck
Annie
If it's an 0870 or 0845 number look on Saynoto0870 for a generic number. Very MSE
Thanks Annie,
I will reply tomorrow!
SayNoTo0870 only has an 0844

I can't see Wonga agreeing to anything other than full settlement.
I would try your hardest to get your bank to increase your overdraft (ask for an appointment as opposed to just phoning - apols if you've already done this) pay off Wonga in full - live very very frugally for the next 2-3 months - your overdraft should be less financially painful than dragging on this debt with Wonga.0 -
How did you get on with Wonga?make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Ok.
Spoke to Wonga today, After being on hold for 15 minutes!
They said they would not discuss any payment plan options until the loan payment has been declined from the card.. which makes me think, considering i have been with them for years with no hitches or late payments, that they would accept some kind of plan if the card declined.
The problem is, as its due to come out on my payday, there will be enough money for them to take.. But i will be left in a position where i need to loan again to get through the month.
Should I cancel my card?
Should i extend the loan for a day and when it declines call them?
I need some help here
Thanks again in advance

I suppose the quickest way if you dont want them to take the money is to tell the bank you have lost your card.......
sneaky eh
But what do others thinkmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I am not sure that this would be enough considering previous posters experiences with Pay day loans companies (but I could be worng, and this could be loan company specific and they could have been talking about another similar company)
Is it too late to change the bank you will get paid into? (You should open an alternative basic bank account with a bank different from your own for situations like this)
Can you withdraw some of your wages before Wonga get there? (Enough to cover all essentail bills and food?)

PS - id does seem that some people in this post have sucessfully made arrangements with WONGA after they missed a payment: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/42948784#Comment_42948784

I think they'll still be able to take the money even if your card is stopped.
Have you tried going into your bank and speaking to someone there to see if you can get an overdraft (or increase if you've already got one). You could set this to reduce by, say, £100/month and clear it off fairly quickly and it'd save the huge interest charges that Wonga apply.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Thanks Guys for the replies and links.. Very helpful

I have realised my loan goes out on the 14th (saturday) and my wages get paid on the 13th this month! so i would have enough time to move money about before it gets taken..
Made me laugh, even the collections agent said i had a "substantial" amount of loans with them in the past.. Hopefully the discussions will go well when they have to be done!0 -
Fingers crossed it works outGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

You could sell your iPhone 4 if you're serious about shifting your debt. Buy a cheap phone on the same network and stick your sim card in it. Should give you at least £300 to play with.0
