Comparable product to Complan?

Hi all. My son is using Chocolate flavoured Complan to build his weight up as he's quite underweight. This is not under a GP or anything. Would anyone know of a comparable product - packets or bulk is fine - to Complan as the individual sachets are a tad expensive these days?

This is simply to help him put some weight on.

Cheers all. :)

It may be advisable to see your gp as i'm not sure taking complan long term is a good thing or to see if there is a more serious underlying reason for being underweight.
He may just be a skinny child and be a skinny adult, sometimes thats just the way people are but unless it runs in the family it needs to be checked out and maybe different ways for him to put on weight could be looked into.

Have you tried making your own versions with a smoothie? again see a GP just to get bloods checked and maybe see if he is lacking in anything. As long as the build ups are in addition to a normal diet and not instead of it would be something to think about asking for help with from the GP as they can prescribe build up drinks and if your son is under 26 he should be able to get these free.

If he is over 18 and again, is fit and healthy maybe looking for some of your own ingredience and making your own drinks up. Things like whey powder (comes from many different brands which will also taste many different ways, review things first! Many on here use the myprotein website) add in fruit and mulk, blend and your away but it is very very important he is eating all meals properly inbetween as it can become all too easy to rely on build up drinks.

    Hi,
Complan is v expensive IMO and recently I discovered using evaporated milk when making smoothies etc. Good calories and good in protein and only about 50p per tin.

Hi and thanks guys - I will follow up on all of these suggestions.

I particularly like the idea of making up his own smoothies.

    Cheers.
