I stayed in the Royal hotel which was fine - for 2 people it was £50 for a 1 night stay including B&B.

I must say Bangor is absolutely divine, we dined out at Coyles and the food was delicious and the setting fabulous. A very lazy but brilliant Sunday was spent sampling some of the pubs and walking along the harbour.

The people in this part of the world are also very nice; if I have one complaint about the town it is very, very expensive and this will put potential tourists off going there.

Glad you enjoyed your stay shaz77. Yes we are lucky enough to have a few half decent restaurants at the minute. The walk along the marina is very relaxing and refreshing, so glad you got to enjoy it.

The Royal offer (subject to planning permission) will be axailable all summer season.

"Very expensive" - what are you referring to? What town/part of the country are you from? Maybe I'm just used to being fleeced!! :rotfl:

I think you've confused Bangor in Northern Ireland with Bangor in Wales!

You are right, I don't think that places in Bangor are very expensive, £75 is not that much if you look at the place's quality. :)

I paid £7 in one pub in Bangor fora glass of coke and a bottle of Coors Light, I thought that was rather expensive and this is just one of several examples. I must re-iterate the fact that I absolutely love Bangor.

I don't understand why buying a glass of coke in a bar or restaurant has become so expensive and in addition to this a 500 ml bottle of coke now costs £1.30!
