Hi all,
Two and a half months ago I developed a constant need to urinate with bladder pressure.
Some days are bad and some days not so bad.
First I9 was given one course of antibiotics for three days whilst the urine got tested, no infection found.
I then saw another doctor as the problem was still there. His diagnosis was prostatitis, second urine sample still negative but i was given antibiotics for one month. For a coupe of weeks I was back to normal (which i think was a coincidence) then the problem came back (I still had ten days of antibiotics left and I finished the course anyway).
Saw another doctor and he disagreed with first diagnosis, he thinks i have an overactive bladder. He prescribed some blood test that came back clear and he suggested i have a bladder scan. The practice managed to screw up my referral for three weeks and it took three attempts forom them until the hospital put me on the list. Now I have four week wait for the scan.
Has anyone had this sort of problem with their bladder and did they get it sorted via their GP or did you manage to get a referral.
Many thanks.
p.s. i am an otherwise healthy 33 year old.

hi there i suffered for years with this condition, it impacted on all areas of my life as control as well as frequency became an issue. i finally sought help and had some physio sessions - transformed my life - keep pushing with your gp, you don't have to suffer. good lucktrying hard to be debt free by the end of 20100

Marco, as good as your GP may be you need specialist help from a urologist. If you haven't had a PSA test you must insist that you have one really soon.
I have continence and urge problems as a middle aged woman, (you probably didn't want to know that !) it makes my life a misery at times but a specialist physiotherapist was of enormous help.
Men and women both think there is little help available for these depressing and often embarassing problems but that just isn't true.
Medication, physio, good advice and even surgery can all play a part in getting you sorted. At 33 you've hopefully got a long, healthy and happy life ahead of you, don't take no for an answer from your GP or hospital if you're not happy with your treatment.
Good Luck .0
