I've seen one in my local Tesco for £9.97, don't know if that's cheap enough or not?

Think it is the Technika MP-906 256MB

Loads around eg Asda 128mb player (or is it 256mb) for about £12 or £13 - seen it but didn't pay lots of attention to exact price. Online you could try www.amazon.co.uk as they have a few different 256mb players for around £15.

Tesco direct have an 256mb mp3 player for under £10 click here - that price is 1 third off normal and they also have them in store but not sure current price.

I paid £18 plus p&p for it, i could have had it for £13 ish plus p&p but i didn't notice it was a multiple auction, so you only enter what you are prepared to pay, the previous bid was £13 so at the last second, i bid £18 so i won, but i only had to enter say £13.01 and i would have got it for that. The postage isn't cheap, but when you way up the overall cost, i still think it's worth it for a 2gb player with all the other features, plus it was delivered next day.....if you want to have the mp4 function, you have to do a firmware upgrade, i have not bothered as i am only going to use mine for podcasts.
