Green tea works, lose leaf Jasmine tastes nicest but remember it's not normal tea and don't add milk or sugar (yuck) and don't brew it for long. It should be a very light green colour to the water and you should always be able to clearly sea the bottom of the cup (so use a white or glass cup/mug)."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0

A total waste of time and money, not to say potentially dangerous.
Let you body take care of itself the way it's supposed to -that's what your kidneys and liver are for - (unless they are damaged or compromised in some way).
A sensible diet with enough fluids to keep you sufficiently hydrated and plenty of good quality sleep is all you should need.0

IMHO no, detox diets don't work, that is what the liver is for, if you have consumed too much for your liver to cope with then you become ill and need a transplant, as yet doctors have not found anything to take the place of a new liver, had they done so this would be a good thing to consider but as it stands nothing can take the place of the liver and kidneys which are designed perfectly to get rid of waste products.
I have yet to read of a doctor suggesting a liver transplant patient go on a detox diet to take stress away from the liver!
Drink water to aid the liver too work (though not to much to put pressure on the kidneys, roughly 1.5-2 L per day is medically advised) and sleep 8 hours or so a night (varies from person to person). If anything taking additional products only puts more stress on the liver which will try to clean your body of any such pills when it otherwise wouldn't have had to.0

how about eating healthily and doing exercise? long term strategies are much better than short term attempts at a quick fix.scotty1971 wrote: »can detox be used to lose weight?
(green tea tastes good and increases metabolism so is a good thing to drink - but a detox has no proven health benefits and seems to be mainly a way to try and make people part with money for unnecessary pills and potions!):happyhear0

Green tea is literally the only thing I've ever known to have any such effect, I can drink a pot before I go out and drink alcohol and have some when I get back and in the morning, no hangover. Trying with just water didn't work half as well though I know dehydration if half the problem with hangovers.
I have a stomach condition where food makes me drowsy (no real explanation for it despite years of investigative tests etc) green tea is the only thing that can pick me back up again or help prevent me from nodding off after a good meal.
In my opinion it's just magic simple as :-) lol"Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0
