I was going to come on here and comment on your SOA, but I think its been covered by everyone else...
I think you need to have a serious talk with your gf... I get the not being able to get a job, it sucks! But she needs to contribute to the household, while looking for a job there is so much she could be doing, get her on to MSE, the up your income board could pay for your entertainmet, the old style board could cut your costs and the DFW board helps for motivation.
Not working is soul distroying, I'm not getting at her, really I'm not, it might help with her self worth if she is helping the two of you.

Thanks for replying
The entertainment is £12 a week for Thai Boxing, £15 a month online subscription and we go out once a fortnight with about 60-70 for a few drinks or food (or cinema, depending on the mood). I can try and cut this but this side of it is when I face relationship strain
Really not sure what you mean here? Is it that your GF complains when you don't have enough money to take her out, even when she's not contributing? If that is the case I think you know where the answer really lies, if it is not the case I apologise:oTallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -
I don't think relationship strain will wash quite honestly, fact is you can't afford it.
If someone owed you money how would you react if they offered to stop paying the amounts they were supposed to so they could instead spend it on (for starters) £140 meals per month +£80 month mobiles (assuming you can't lower this). That is exactly the attitude the banks will take I would suspect...0
