Hi there - my most favourite challenge has been the pay a debt a day thread. It's most certainly worked for me as you can see from my signature! The PAD posters are a lovely bunch of peeps as well....

I started with the Sealed Pot Challenge and then quickly joined the NSD challenge for more instant results! I liked the Sealed Pot because at the end of the year I'm going to have a big reward for it but I like the NSD challenge (done over a month) for something I can track the progress of and know how I'm doing :)
    Thank you competition posters!

I did the make 10 pound a day one years ago, for three months running was well chuffed! I have such admiration for the people who can do it month in month out. I also did Pad and NSDs. The Daily Chat was the biggest help and where I made lots of friends. Oh I still do the sealed pot challenge(same sealed pot as I started with in 2008!! so I don't post there now).

Now I do the virtual sealed pot, the £2 challenge and this month I am going to do the 10 pound a day

They are all brilliant and I just love the people who come up with the genuis ideas!
    Nevertheless she persisted.

My first was the No Spend Days challenge, which I did officially join, and then the Take Lunch to work challenge, which I have never officially joined, but follow because it helps so much with achieving the NSDs target I set for myself :D.
Debt Free since Nov 11 (ish) (except the £118000 mortgage :o) as at Jan 2013 but still hanging around DFW as I need to Stay On Track.

We started with the grocery challenge, as with most people it was the fastest and biggest area of saving keeping a honest spend diary for a month was a real eyeopener

I have enjoyed NSD challenges. It made me realise what rubbish I buy and how all the little spends add up in a month. It made me change my ways. Even if you feel a bit shy and don't post in a thread it can be motivational to read and 'play along at home' as such.

I'm not sure it has been a challenge on the forum but reading Martin's Downshift Challenge was inspirational too.

My weekly grocery shop used to be over £100 a week (for 2 of us and 1 cat). It's now half that (the cat wont downshift!!).

I've also been inspired by taking pack lunches to work threads. No more buying magazines. No buying books will I've read all the ones I already own.

Martin is such a helpful bloke and if you read the guides at the top you can save loads. My house insurance is due soon and already I've been following Martin's guide on where to check to get it cheapest.
