And with staff like that, is it any wonder we hate Tesco? The SAa complained when they were £20 vouchers and now they complain when it's under £1. We can't win!
  • I was well and truly super-trouted by a mutating breed in my Tesco. I offered up a £3.37 j-t-d voucher (krave & nutella), nice attractive young male SA checked numbers and then proceeded to fold up voucher with receipt and put it in his till. I asked for my receipt back to which he replied that they had to keep it. Now, having been through this palava before, several times, and fuelled by pmt I was not going to accept this gracefully! So I asked him to check with his supervisor. Attractive young male (no 2) poodled along and exclaimed that he had no idea what to do with the voucher. I said that I was happy for him to sign all over it but it was my property and I may need to return something (unlikely but not the point) and therefore I would like my receipt back please. He bimbled off to check with till manager. In meantime, another till manager with whom I have had many dealings (said super-trout of opening sentence) appeared, snatched my voucher and receipt from SA, and insisted that they keep it because the Cash office said so! Well I repeated myself as before. She repeated herself. This went back and forth several times. Customer behind me in queue, having tried very hard to burn holes into my new cardi with her sour face, put her two-penneth in also, suggesting that maybe the cashier was right! I gave her a steely glare twice as sour for her trouble. By this time, till supervisor reappears and says that he has spoken to Deputy Manager who has confirmed that, I, the customer is correct. The receipt belongs to moi! However, I had to sign it (OMG, to confirm it had been redeemed). My victory was finally mine as I proceeded to tear my returned self-signed receipt in two before their eyes. Trouty, by this time was smacking her lips and sucking her cheeks in and flounced off (last seen at CS on the phone).

I have since rung CS, head office, and they confirmed that receipts are not to be retained and she is sending me a £5 giftcard for recompense.

    Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I hope some of you find this useful. Confirmed today from Yesterday's shop.

    Sorry...
This time, your shop would have been £ 20.04 cheaper at ASDA so we'll give you a voucher for the difference back!**

    TOTAL £ 39.54 £ 19.50
    1 x WALLS SOLERO EXOTIC FRUITS 3 PACK 270ML £ 2.23 £ 1.50
    1 x WALLS SOLERO BERRY BERRY 3 PACK 270ML £ 2.23 £ 1.50
    2 x VEETEE DINE IN BASMATI RICE 280G £ 2.98 £ 1.50
    1 x BEN & JERRY'S CARAMEL CHEW CHEW 500ML £ 4.18 £ 2.00
    3 x JACOBS TWIGLETS 6 PACK £ 5.94 £ 3.00
    2 x HARDYS CREST CABERNET SHIRAZ MERLOT 75CL £ 21.98 £ 10.00

The Hardy's Crest is a good one. £10.99 in T and £5 in A. (that would have been awesome in DTD. lol) :)
Ben & Jerry's also good, but just check that ASDA have the flavour you're buying.

Be careful if you're going for the Veetee Dine-In rices. 2 for £3 in ASDA, but 3 for £3 in T, so only buy 2.

I laughed so much I nearly fell off the sofa. Maybe I should have complained to head office when I was trouted for one of my receipts. Ok it was only for dishwasher tablets but the Alan Carr wannabe was having none of it. As it wasn't my local and I was buying a Fathers Day gift that the other stores no longer stocked, I didn't want to cause a fuss. In other stores however, when SAs have trouted me they've had to eat their words when the CS has been called over. Must remember this tale of woe however next time I'm trouted :rotfl:

Just home from my hols, opened my post and I got a money card for the dtd, only thing is its not dtd.

This time, your shop would have been £ 11.86 cheaper at ASDA so we'll give you a voucher for the difference back!**
You can use it on your very next shop at a till in a Tesco store or by giving it to your delivery driver for a tesco.com online grocery shop.
    TOTAL£ 19.98 £ 8.12 x 2 TURNER ROAD RESERVE CHARDONNAY 75CL £ 19.98 £ 8.12
    1 x LEES OF SCOTLANDR/BERRY COCONUT ICE BAR 60G £ 0.42
So that was what I got, I sent off my 2 reciepts, both for the same amount, and only got £2.57 inc postage back?
    Any help please.
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.
