Mystery shopper self employed

I recently lost my job and decided to try going self employed registered with the taxman etc. unfortunatly that didn't work out and im now back in full time employment starting after the bank holiday weekend. But im interested in becoming a mystery shopper which in understand is usealy self employed. How does being in full time employment affect being self employed what are the complexeties of this?

    Think he might have been referring to links at the top of the page - although none there refer to Mystery Shopping or tax so a bit confusing!

    Anyway, the income you earn from mystery shopping needs to be declared to Mr Taxman. If you're on an average wage (sorry, don't know the exact number but if you're below £35k this is right) you'll pay 20% of your income. This only refers to the fees, not any reimbursed items. And I think you can deduct some expenses like travel/mileage to get to wherever you do your assignments.

    There are definitely links with more info on this - the Mystery Shopping thread at the top of "Up your income" should help.

    There is a hoofing great thread about 5 up from this one that will give the OP all the info they need - however to be a mystery shopper you usually need to be observant....
