Paypal and Prepaid cards

I have an existing Paypal account which I use to receive funds from items sold on my website. I just tried adding a Cashplus prepaid mastercard as my main card on this account, as the existing credit card is going to go up the swanee shortly due to impending br, but it won't accept it. Is this because I haven't loaded any funds onto it, or is it that Paypal won't accept these cards on principle? Anyone had any experience of this? Help! :(

I would open a Cashminder account for Paypal to dibble into.
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
  • I use an escape mastercard top up credit card no problems with pay pal, so not sure if yours is because its cashplus or you have not loaded any funds?
  • I already use my co op card on another Paypal account, & you can't use the same card on two separate Paypal accounts I don't think. Paypal won't even let me register my Cashplus, so I am wondering if maybe it's cos I've not got any funds on it.... I will try that! I'll also look into Escape.....Thanks everyone!

maybe you need to put funds on it to activate the card. I'd try that first before getting another kind of pre-paid card.

You need funds on the card as paypal take a "test" amount of £1 (which they then refund) to make sure the card is valid
    :AWhatever it is - I didn't do it!:A

Thank you FYP & Jaxb - that makes total sense, I will put some dosh on tomorrow & try again. Also I was wondering, can Itransfer funds out of Paypal onto a prepaid card, or is it only a proper bank account they allow (again it seems you cant use same bank account for more than one Paypal accounts), it's all such a tangled web.... what will happen to those Paypal accounts I have which are set up on what will soon become frozen bank accounts & defunct credit cards. At what point will PP realise I am BR, I have heard very conflicting stories about this, can they close my account without me knowing?
