great to see how the other half live (not) & at our expense (tax payer).
beans & toast again tonight, as long as wee keep the lovely royals & there party happy. (in the words of my dad "sell them to the yanks or at least rent them" that should save us a few quid of the tax bill)

For some reason, the cost to the tax payer of the "Royals" yesterday does not seem to bother me.
What is nagging away at me is the thought....... Will all the British politicians who attended be claiming everything as MPs expenses?
i.e their own/wifes new designer dress, shoes, hat and bag etc.
Plus the 'gift' they made to W&K, plus the taxis and hotel bills etc.
At least the Royals get their set amount of money (as I understand it) whether you agree with that or not.
MP's expenses just seems to be a bottomless trough.
I have read that after all the publicity died down, most of the MPs who repaid money they had claim, were given most of it back again.
Plus, the new 'tougher' rules that came in have been thrown out again, as the MPs said it was not fair !!

Also, if they are claiming the Wedding clothing as 'expenses', then they should now hand over the clothes to the state, because they should not be using them for their own personal use afterwards.
An employed person can only claim clothing as a tax deductable expense if it is whole and exclusively for business use. Same rules that apply to the plebs should apply to the pigs with their noses in the trough....imo

Sorry to be a b!tch, but if they are claiming everything as MPs expenses - can we have a refund for Mrs Cleggs outfit?;)

the reason for my rant was because our local councils & work places (scottish & i think northern ireland) did not have to acknowledge this as a public holiday, as if to say that the royal family is exclusively english & welsh.
scottish nhs nurses had to take as unpaid holiday or a part of there annual leave to get the day off, not getting paid double time if worked:mad:
roll on the referendum to vote for scottish independance when snp get back in at holyrood.:j
  • Times+ members can download a free copy of Persepolis up until 23:59 tonight.
  • lf we rent the royals out then we should get the same sort of tax-breaks out of them as the expat laws for the stinking rich LOL ;):money:
