Posting this on behalf of a colleague.......
My colleague in interested in getting part of his garden done in brick paving. He's had a quote for approx £3500 for an area of 53m2
He'd like to get some other quotes for comparison.
My colleague is from the Bangor area, so if there's anyone who can help out, please give me a wee shout on here.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Just priced this myself as looking to remove a garden & create another driving space.
Total area 23m2 & was quoted £1100 for basic brick styles or £800 to tarmac it
Also in Bangor by the way.
£3500 sounds extreme but we don't know if it's a simple dig out or awkward site etc...0 -
Thanks Milko, I'll see if I can get some more information about what exactly is required to complete the job and come back with that.
Cheers

There is a bit of prep work required to complete this job. Tarmac area currently laid has to be removed and there are 2x2 slabs to lift buit my colleague says he can do that bit himself.
Anyone else got any advice??

Can't give you prices or dimensions but the hubby did ours himself. There's a lot of info on Google for how to lay slabs. We raised our patio height as we didn't have the energy or inclination to remove the crazy paving and concrete that was already there.
The simple instructions are:
Ship in a lot of sand
Wheelbarrow it onto the patio
Use a vibrating plate to compact the sand as much as possible
Using instructions from the web, place two parallel lengths of wood down into the sand ensuring they are level. Use a 3rd piece of wood between the sunken lengths to screed the sand perfectly flat.
Lay slabs
Have a few beers
We used simple sandstone flags which were laid flush so no need for cementing any gaps.0 -
I still think I'd be getting a few more quotes0

Thanks for the help, I'll pass this on to my colleague0

Wilkonsons in Portglenone are one of the best and great value for money. They travel all over the country. There's already a thread on here which mentiones them.0

£3500 seems very high
Try SC Developments (based in Downpatrick) 4484 2319
I used them last year for a bit of building work and landscaping - no problems and not too hard to pay0
