dont know where to turn

Options
hi all,
could really do with some advice/support.
ihave posted before and basically have roughly £12000 debt.
im hoping to do a dro when my divorce is done but iam now very worried that because my ex is having the very small equity my dro will fail :(
national debtline told me last yr that because i live on income support ,that a dmp wouldnt be possible.
i have had help and i pay some of my creditors token payments. the others who wont accept it dont get anything.
im so scared now and being alone with depression and anxiety doesnt help :(
thing is what will happen to me? if my creditors take me to court will i end up having to pay more than i can afford?
i do realise the debts are mostly my own fault but if i could go back and start again i would.
if anyone can offer any advice or just a bit of reassurance i would be so grateful.
ps, thankyou to fermi, tixy and fb who have helped me so far x

I don't have any advice, but just wanted to say hang in there and (((hugs))).

It might be worth posting a statement of affairs (list of incomings and outgoings with interest rates on debts) to allow people to advise better.

    Mandy,

Just a quick reply at the moment. Don't worry - we'll give all the support and advice you need. Even if a creditor takes you to court and gets a ccj - so what?

The court will make you pay no more than you can afford...;) - even if it's just a token £1 per month.

Chill out and keep in touch with us..........:beer:

I'd just reiterate what thechippy says: relax, get good advice from here, and you're likely to be better off than before, paying back a managable amount. If thats £1 then then that's all they'll get.

They can't take knickers off a bare @rse!:)

Like has been said before, if you haven't got it, how can they take it?!
Please don't panic and get yourself really down about this - easier said than done, i know, but it really isn't worth it.
As someone in a DMP myself, it might seem bad, depressing and shameful, but at the end of the day, really all it is money. There are so many much more important things in life. Corny as it might sound, it is thoughts like that that get me through when i can't afford this or that. My children are happy, my home is full of love. My priorities are those.

    Hugs to you

    Thanks very much.
I've decided that as my debts are all non priority un secured. Iam going to try for dro. If it fails then it's token payments until one day I may be able to pay more. They can't take my things away so least I have that.

i had a chat with someone who advised the same, dont loose sleep over it.
theres just a concern i have about my creditors making me go bankrupt. think i read somewhere they dont if the debts are under £750. i have about 4 creditors which are over this amount. wondering if anyone knows if this is a likely step?
    thanks again
