Mistake!!

Hi, I went bankrupt in February and today my son has just told me he has paid some money he owed me into my old bank account by mistake. It was for sixty pounds, so not a huge amount, but is there any way he can sort this out. Could I get it back or will they just keep it. Think I may already know the answer to this one, when does a bank ever act nice. Many thanks for any help.

you could try and ask the bank for it to be returned, and if they won't, contact your OR and see if they will have a word on your behalf? worth a shot0

Contact the OR and explain what has happened. The OR will contact the bank to allow to withdraw the money. Things might be different now, but that is what happened in our case when CB got put into a closed account.0

Banks can reverse payments for sure even faster payments to other accounts (obviously not switch type payments), but your Son ought to get onto their banking services team asap. Good luck.0

Thanks for your help . . I think I shall get my son to try with the banking services first, then if that fails will contact OR.0

Had some money (Child Benefit I think) paid into my current account after going BR and the bank (Barclays) sent me a cheque for it without being asked. Had to take it in to a branch and they cashed it for me....though the staff were a bit confused, never having done it before, and it took a few phone calls before they processed it.“Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."0
