I am in the process of setting up a DMP with CCCS. If when CCCS write to my creditors with an offer of payment and if the creditors do not accept, do the creditors start hounding me again, and do they start CCJ's
Thanks in advance for any replies

    Right

Just hold your horses and try to not think what "may" happen. Deal with each event as it happens.

When you stop paying, which you will to start with, the creditors will ring and inundate you with letters. However after a couple of months this will suddenly stop.

All creditors may come on board and accept the DMP or they may not initially but come round after a while.

All mine accepted and only Barclaycard now charge interest (they commenced again after 6 months).

CCJ's may happen they may not. I've been on mine ayear now and I don't hear much from my creditors (Santander send me regular default notices) but the rest are quiet.

    So in summary...

    Set up your dmp

Pay your token payments until your direct debit is set up

Deal with the letters by filing them

If anybody gets heavy, come on here for advice.

And look forward to your debt free day

    Thats it really.

    One last thing

Deal with the phonecalls by saying "I'm on a dmp and my reference number is XXXXX" they will then leave you alone

    Hi claypath,

As the others have said, you will get loads of calls and letters very quickly, but once things settle down and you continue the regular payments you should be fine.

    Good luck

If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
