Now fewer off-licences in Glasgow.
Well, our local Glasgow Oddbins at Hillfoot & Partick have
closed their doors, without even having a roup to get rid of
the last few bottles from their sparse shelves.
I'd imagine the rest around here: Woodlands Rd, Hyndland,
Byres Rd, Gt Western Rd & Michell St are closed too.
Nicholas on Sauchiehall St presumably remains open.

It is a sad indictment of Britons. I used to buy wine 50/50 from supermarkets and Oddbins but abandoned supermarkets years ago due to their offensive and dishonest pricing shenanigans. I'd rather pay an extra quid or two for a bottle of plonk than purchase a dishonestly priced 'half' price bottle.
Unfortunately my 'freedom' to exercise 'choice' and not support lies is not shared by the majority of other shoppers. (Just as I have so far been unable to buy any strawberries this season - I have not being able to find any without a dishonest label.)0 -
