Pretty big bras at reasonable prices???

Options
hi, im sure i saw a thread on this a while ago but have hunted n just cant find it!

i have recently had a bra measuring (was 2 sizes bigger than wearing - 36E!!!) but since then have struggled buying bras. Many of the ones i have found have either been rather ugly or just very expensive.

Debenhams seems to be alright for DD+ bras but my store doesnt have the largest range.

So does anyone have any suggestions of where i can get large size bras which also look nice. Ideally id prefer somewhere i can buy them instore and try them on rather than buying online (altho guess ill have to buy online if thats the main solution!)

thanks in advance! x

  • Is there a branch of Bravissimo near you?
Our local House of Fraser is usually better than Debenhams, but I've found better prices and variety online. I've used a site called brastop.co.uk a few times.

If you find a brand that fits well you can then buy online I find..I buy Freya from Figleaves via Quidco, also get lots of free postage offers if you sign up for their newsletters I have just been today for a fitting at my local bra shop and got some Curvy Kate bras, seen them but not tried them before and they are lovely colours and a great fit. I pay around £30 for a good quality well fitting bra which I think is good value.

M&S do up to an H cup in some styles but they don't carry them in many stores, just on the website. However you can order them to be delivered instore, go in, pick them up, try them on and if they don't fit, return them on the spot.

Be aware that your size may differ depending on the brand. Its a good idea to get measured each time you visit a different store and to also remember that weight loss/gain and even different times of the month can and will alter things. I change up to 2 sizes depending on which brand I try.

Once you know which brands and styles fit you best try Ebay and Bra stop https://www.brastop.com- you can get good quality bras (Freya, Panache) at up to half price. It's best to sign up for the Brastop newsletter as new stock sells out very quickly. I rarely buy bras from figleaves or Bravissimo these days.

Debenhams is quite good, as is Bravissimmo- there's always plenty of both on Ebay. I'd normally go to Debenhams in their Blue Cross sale. Asda's bras are surprisingly comfortable and flattering- bought a couple of H cups the other night, and very pleased with them.
Next occasionally do bigger sizes, but I've found them uncomfortable. M&S as well- very nice, and always a nice fit on me.
Depends on what size you're looking for- my main gripe with a lot of retailers is they start selling at 36in.... I'm 28-30.

I was on the hunt yesterday for a nice bra that actually fits!
I went to Primark & they had some nice 2 pack (£8) smooth support bras, i wear a DD and can find that hard to get sometimes but this range was D-F or G cup & really nice! Haven't had to adjust it once whilst wearing :D
  • Have you tried 'Yours'? They have an online shop, and stores in Manchester and Norwich - much cheaper than Evans, who I have always found to stock really oddly shaped bras anyway!

I met the site owner of brastop at a carboot sale last wekend. I found her really genuine and instantly liked and trusted her. I wouldn't hessitate to buy bras online from her.

Another vote for brastop. I am also a 36 E and have found a variety of makes that fit and flatter there. Just put an order in actually.
