Childrens Chemistry Set

Hi - my 10 year old girl is really keen on science and wants a good quality chemistry set for Xmas. Any recommendations out there. Also - any idea where a childs lab coat and protective glasses can be found.

much appreciated.

    hiya,

I got my sons their chemistry things from toys r us. There was plenty to chose from, from microscopes for examining all sorts (you'd be amazed what kids want to look at under one of those) to the sets complete with test tube and controlled experiments complete with all the ingredients so to speak to carry them out.

For some reason i cant cut and copy links but if you go to the toys r us website.

www.toysrus.co.uk and use "science" as your search criteria, then the option in the second column of "science toys" this will bring up a whole load of different things for you to chose from.

If you have a store local to you it's worth going in and having a look there as there is loads in our Dundee Store.

Not so sure about the lab coat, but i'll ask around and see what I can find, as for the goggles quite a few of the sets had goggles in them, or they can dare i say use swimming goggles or nip into B&Q etc for goggles there. (mind you they maybe a little too big depending on the size of the child).

    Hope this helps.
