Im not sure what forum topic this falls under but i could try here and hopefully you nice folks can point me in the right direction.
I obtained land survey maps for land around my house, this comes after a dispute with a neighbour that lives not far from my house.
From the land survey maps it says the neighbour owns the field beside my house, however after doing some research this field was sold to him behind my back 10years ago because i would have objected to it. Now that i have found out about this (assumed it was being leased as it was leased previously to 10years ago).
Therefore, my life has just gotten alot worse known that i am going to be constantly intimidated by this neighbour. However i was wondering, if there was anyway legally i could cause dispute on this land since it was sold without me being informed and therefore could have objected by reason of intimidation.
Is it all too late, im clutching straws at this stage. Does anyone know any law/legal proceeding or path i could go along to try and at least keep them as far away from me as possible?
Anything at all is appreciated.

Sorry OP, but I don't quite understand.
Why do you think the seller of the land needed to tell you that he was selling it, and that you had a right to object to the sale?

Basically i would have thought there was some legal procedure, similar to that of planning applications. Whereby neighbours are notified of a house being built as can object to it.
Whereas this instead of houses, im just referring to the land itself. I would have thought there would have been some legal procedure where the seller would have to notify any neighbours in the near vacinty of the sale and therefore allow any objection to it.
Instead, i just found out this land passed hands (tax man probably wasnt involved) without me ever being told.
And such i am in the scenario now where this intimidating neighbour will be around forever.
I am drawing to the conclusion that there is nothing i can do, but there must be somewhere in the magic book that can apply to this type of scenario.0 -
Thanks for explaining, OP.
I must admit that I've never heard of such a requirement, but then I'm not an expert in this field (no pun intended - well, just a little one).
When I think about it, I can't see how such a requirement/law would work - who would be obliged to do the telling; who would need to be told; what can the "tellee" do about it? These are just some of my first queries - the whole thing seems impractical to me.
I think you might be stuck with your neighbour for now.
However, if he's harrassing you, that's an entirely different matter..........

surely its only the same as your next door neighbour selling their house and you not knowing it's for sale and who is going to buy it?? I mean there is no requirement of this for property so why would it be any different for land?
just trying to get my head around thisMarried my wonderful husband 29th May 20110
