Not even if I sell it and use the money to pay off my mortgage?

I'm impatiently waiting for money for Olympics tickets to come out of my account. We put in for £580-worth, but I doubt we'll get them all - whatever we don't end up spending on the tickets I will put towards an overpayment. If we *do* get everything, I will try to persuade my husband that we should sell some of them back once the exchange site opens. Not sure what he'll say as he's a much bigger sports fan than I am and is really quite excited about it all.0

Today's money saving efforts included joining the local library in the hope of cutting down my book-buying habit, and looking into transferring my stocks and shares ISA to somewhere more lucrative.
My first overpayment goes off in a few days.0 -
I've been wondering whether I should try to claim lower rate Disability Living Allowance. I think that I'm entitled to it - though of course whether or not I'd actually get it is another matter. But I don't need it as I can quite easily meet the extra expenses I have as part of being disabled through my income, and it would go straight towards my mortgage.
What do people think? Would it be ethical to claim?0 -
Progress is feeling slow at the moment, but here are some things that have happened since my last update.
- I got £28ish from Topcashback. I resisted the temptation to get it paid in Amazon vouchers, even though I'd get 5% more that way, because I know I'd spend it straight away on fun stuff.
- I've noticed I'm paying 4.4% on my irritating little student loan debt of £680ish, which is more than I pay on my mortgage, so I'm going to pay that off with some of the money I've got reserved to pay off my credit card once the 0% deal ends in August. It'll feel good to get it out of the way.
- I submitted two stories to an upcoming Steampunk Shakespeare anthology, so fingers crossed on that.0 -
Still making slow process. I'm keeping up monthly overpayments of £150, but nothing extra yet..
I had my first sale of clothes I've grown out of - not on Ebay but on my private blog. Raised £165, which I'm quite pleased with. I still have a lot to sell, and should get over my Ebay-phobia and start listing things.
Unfortunately I've also been spending rather more than usual, on Olympics tickets and theatre tickets.
My husband has decided to use a big lump of his savings (not sure how much, but several thousand) to overpay, which makes me happy. Unfortunately, him actually getting round to it is a different matter ...0
