I just want to add to my previous post. I forget to mention the fact that there are some people are living in this allowance bracket given that you already have accommodation. Take for instance some asylum seekers, illegal immigrant, etc who are living in this country ...

So learn the skills from these sort of people will guarantee a success.
    So the question

    Can you survive on £135pm?

The answer is 100% yes, no need to be tested. The only matter here is that are you be able to effort of loosing some level of comforts that you have been having sofar.

I think this is a bit unfair on the OP for you to compare his standard of living to someone on benefits. I mean where does it stop? Using your logical, I could argue that we should all be having just one meal and even that of lentil soup as this family has done (http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23858547-the-dispossessed-deep-in-debt-and-struggling-to-raise-her-family-the-treasury-cleaner-on-poverty-wage.do)

    Comfort is relative, isn't it?

I think you have to take into consideration the views that the OP is canvassing. I have no doubts that people survive on a lot less. However, IMHO £135 or the c£100 that the OP has per month is borderline and I don't think I would be able to survive on £25pw (that's what it is) but that's me.
