to that, pink poppy.
My mortgage and council tax may be staying the same (for now), but my pension contribution will be going up in April because of the revised pension deal for teachers. I really ought to go and do the sums to work out how much it's going to go up by so I know how much less money I'm going to have to deal with.
I just caught myself out in the stupidest thought. My new ISA wants me to send my first deposit by cheque. That means I need to transfer the money out of my Tesco savings account into my current account to cover the cheque. And I found myself wanting to put it off until later in the month when my CTC will have arrived and I can fund the cheque without taking so much out of the Tesco account. How dumb is that? Even if it has to pass through my current account in transit, all I am doing is moving money from one savings account to another one. It's not spending money, or depleting my savings, or whatever it is I've conditioned myself not to want to do! So I've written the thing and put it in the envelope, and tomorrow I will take it to the post box and send it on its way. I need to get my emergency fund in place so I can concentrate on OPing.

Been very busy recently. Still busy today, but hoping to be able to catch up with other people's diaries once school breaks up for Easter. However, just dropped by to say that
I own 75% of my house!

Thanks everyone. I'm glad I had the boost of that achievement - it's been a very spendy month this month. £600 for builder, £270 for half a term's after school club fees, and now MOT and car tax.
I've put everything I could spare into my ISA before the end of the tax year (now up to £2500 -
) so really don't want to get any back out. Think I can afford to pay for everything except the MOT, which can go on the CC and get paid for after next month's payday - CC is on DD to get paid in full every month, so no interest to pay.
Maybe I should add the ISA to my sig to make me feel better!
