MFiT3 #86: Reduce mortgage from £146,800 to £125,000
Mortgage Sept 2014: £135,500, MF Oct 2035 Peak July 2011: £154,000, MF July 20360 -
Woohoo! Mortgage payment has gone out, I've chipped a tiny bit more off each of the family loans, and the new numbers are now in my sig. Total house borrowing is now under £92k.
Next target will be to get the mortgage under £74k - that will happen with next month's payment.
Just got to keep stocking up that emergency fund so that I can start on the proper OPs. It's getting there: standing at a touch under £3k at the moment, but I'll need some of that for paying the builder next month.

Hiya Lois :hello:
It's good to see the debt coming down isn't it ~ just keep nibbling away at it & it will be gone!! :j
Are you on SVR for your mortgage?? 2.5% is a good rate ~ I'm on 3.5% SVR with the Halifax which is pants, but better than the 5.89% fixed rate I was on before that!!
Will keep popping in to see how you're doing & keep the motivation going'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Yes, the 2.5% is variable, pink poppy. All the more reason to pay as much off as possible before interest rates go up, eh?
Very glad to report that the washing machine still seems to be OK. Phew. Must put another load on this evening, though.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Just popped in to catch up...great news on your milestones being met (however small, they are definately worth celebrating!)
Good idea about moving the date they take the mortgage - unfortunately, mine is at the best time ie on the 1st already otherwise I would have looked into that.

Today has been a bad day money-saving-wise. I ended up taking the kids with me to the supermarket and buying things I wouldn't have bought if they hadn't been there. Must get back into the habit of organising things in advance and doing my supermarket shop online.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Phew!
Had a bit of a panic there. I put all my Christmas spending onto my CC, and put the money to pay for it into my savings account to earn some interest until the CC DD was due. Today I went to move it back again ready for the DD, and discovered that online banking said their was £500 less in my current account than my personal spreadsheet said there was. Aaargh!
On checking through the online banking statement, I discovered that I'd made an extra transfer of £500 into my savings account, and hadn't entered it on my spreadsheet. So all is well, and I have the same amount of money that I thought I had, it just wasn't all in the place where I thought I had put it.
Panic over.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Hate it when that happens! I have a related but different problem... I spent far to much over Christmas and New Years, and have no idea what I spent it on!!
