Thanks Onecoincloser
just got my spending diary back up to date. I took my kids to visit my parents - 80 mile round trip - and my dad slipped me twenty quid petrol contribution. I've put it into my spending spreadsheet as petrol spend of minus £20. I am not doing very well at resisting kids' pestering for snack foods, although I am doing much better at not getting takeaways than I used to pre-MFW.
My plans to keep my current account at about £200 and sweep everything else into savings are working well. I logged onto online banking yesterday to check if I needed to move more money back across from savings after a few debit card purchases and a cash point trip, only to find that my (new lower) tax credits will be going in on Monday, so I actually needed to move a bit more to savings rather than getting any back out.

Diary back up to date again now.
An expensive few days - lunch out to say goodbye to our PGCE student, and a takeaway at home. My kids were pestering for one last weekend when we'd spent the day with another family who were off out for a takeaway after leaving our place. I said not then, but that we could have one on Thursday when I knew I'd have loads of marking to do in a hurry and wouldn't want to cook, so Thursday came and we duly had one. I managed to keep it under £11 for the three of us, though, so could have been worse.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Diary up to date again. Discovered a few things I forgot to type in earlier and added them, too.
Spent £7.75 on getting some shoes reheeled, but at least that's better than getting new shoes. I left another couple of pairs there when I picked these up (one of mine and one of DD's) so there will be those to pay for tomorrow, too.
Otherwise no spending apart from the usual £2.15 on lunch.
Got my provisional timetable for next year. Going up from 42.5% to 47.5%, but spread over 3 days instead of 4. Will probably have to end up doing more school work at home than this year, but at least I'll have more flexibility. Happy with the classes I've got, too.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Science. Well its a long story and hopefully quite unique, but basically school appointed my maternity cover less-than-wisely;)Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Well, it still sounds crazy to me.
Calculated my Sept salary today. It will go up because of my hours going up, and also a little increase because I'll go up to the next point on the spine. It should be a 14% increase in gross pay altogether. It won't go all the way to making up for my drop in TCs, but it should help quite a bit. Am hoping it will help with the OPing.
Succumbed to the temptation to go out for a coffee with a friend this afternoon. She was on her PPA time, and I am supposed to finish at lunchtime on Wednesdays, but hadn't gone home because there was too much to do. We were both fed up of reports and assessments, so we snuck out for a quick coffee. Managed to spend only £1.35, though, so not feeling toooo guilty. We had a great chat and went back to work feeling quite a lot less frazzled than when we went out.
Forgot to go and collect my next pair of reheeled shoes, though. Never mind, I don't work Thursdays so I can get them tomorrow.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Diary up to date.
An expensive day today - trainers for both kids (but got them in the sale) and another pair of shoes reheeled (but cheaper than new shoes, again), and a babysitter for tonight. At least what I'm going out to is just a church event so won't cost any money when I get there.
