We are paying just shy of £200 for around 64 chair covers with sash/ribbon thingy-me-bob and some table decorations. Also includes fitting and removing. We are just doing the chairs for the day and breakfast, not reception to keep costs slightly lower.....
We did look at doing it ourselves but TBH - with everything else that is going to be happening that day - knowing that its been done for us professionaly was worth spending the extra money - one less thing we need to do!
All depends on your budget and how "stretchy" that budget figure can be0 -
i just googled a load, used the contact page and waited for people to get back to me with quotes. Then spoke to a couple and told them that other people were cheaper, then went with the one I felt was best (they'd done the venue before). Then got some table sashes thrown in.
A tip I didn't know...lycra covers are cheaper than poly covers (the ones that are the same material as table clothes). They're not as elegant, but don't require ironing so are much cheaper. £2 per chair for 50 chairs with taffeta sashes.Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93
Crazy Clothes Challenge # 103 - £84/£200 £30 Coat/£12 shirt/£23 jeans/£6 t-shirt/£13 2 x tops
Shoes £79/£100: Cowboy boots, canvas pumps, re-heal boots/ £25 safari shoes0 -
Can you venue not recommend someone?
I was dead set against them but then went to a Wedding open evening at our venue and had to admit the rooms looked so much nicer with the chiar covers. There was a lady there who did the chair covers and was 'apparently' doing a deal if you booked that night.
I succummed to the chair covers and as my mum pointed out we only need 21 so its only small money.
We got ours for £3.5 each which includes a double sash and setting up.
Personally I think its day light robbery but hey :rotfl:Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0 -
The chairs at our venue are awful (It is a school) so we thought about chair covers but actually found hiring chairs more reasonable at £2.50 for a silver gilt chairs with no need for set up etc. Jsut wanted to add if you are looking at covers becasue the chairs are bad there are other options apart form chair covers...0

Make sure the chair covers fit the chairs! commercial ones didnt fit the ones in our village hall so my friends and i made them out of lining material. we have 3 slightly different sized chairs so we discovered but they were all worth it as they really transformed the place. I bought second hand sashes from ebay. If they are standard shapes you can just make a large bag shape and pin it at the back ours had to be fitted unfortunately! they took some ironing too so if someone else could put them on that would save you time. try asking on freecycle etc you never know.0

I've just left a message on your other thread hunni. I would help you if you still need help. It would be a brilliant excuse to get my OH to take me to visit my parents lol. x x xYaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0

depends where you are, in NI I can get the lycra ones (which I hate sorry) for £1.50 including sash/ribbon and delivery/fitting, but am going for the "proper" ones for £1.75 each inclusive of ribbon & fitting (as long as they have the colour of ribbon i want, going to see them next week ) some companies quoted up to £3 per chair!!0

Not sure if this would work or not, but we originally said we wanted chair covers because we didnt like the look of the chairs at the venue, but it was such an expense that we couldnt afford to do in the end, so came up with getting pull bows added to each chair in our wedding colours. You could still see the chairs, but i didnt even notice it, and everyone at the end of the day got told they could take their ribbon home if they wanted too. Found a seller on ebay who did a bulk pack of the colours and it worked out well for us - might not be any good but thought would throw the idea out there -
sorry about the size, couldnt find the shot of the whole room with when everyone sitting down -
not sure if you can see fully!!:heart2:Married my Prince Charming on 15th April 2011 - perfect day!
