discharged but still getting letters

I'm sure this has been covered many times, but I couldn't find anything after a quick search, so appologies if old gound.....
I was discharged from BR in January but have just recieved an annual transaction summary statement from one of my creditors (Santander with whom I had an unsecured personal loan)
The statement shows last years balance plus more interest that has been added for the past year. The letter also includes a Notice of Sums in Arrears and an OFT informationa sheet on debt.
They are saying that my account is still in arrears and to contact them ASAP to discuss missed payments & who they can help with any financial difficulties I may be experiencing!!!
I know I was receiving these types of notices from this and other creditors during my BR, but shouldn't they now have stopped?
The notice says I am still in arrears, but I thought my going BR wiped this? If not, can they still pursue it???
Please advise as I'm a little concerned as I've only just started to get myself back on my feet
Thanks
Nez

They are just trying it on in case you're vulnerable and can be pushed into paying debts you don't owe. It's actually illegal for them to chase a debt that was included in your BR. Hopefully Fermi or another member will be along shortly with the sample letter you can send to them.
In the meantime, have you read/worked through the Clean Up thread? When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

Hi Nez
I had exactly the same letter from Santander last week for an overdraft that was included in my BR and Im 8 months discharged!
Its prompted me to start my credit file clean up using the advice from Fermi's thread here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/677875
Im probably going to send them a copy of my BR order and discharge letter from the OR, though not sure how much notice they will take
You definitely don't owe them anything now as it was included in your BR.0 -
Thanks for the super quick replies.
That puts my mind at rest!
The Cleanup thread looks very interesting & I will give it a thorough read when I get time.
Many thanks

Hi Nez
I am having problems with Santander ( discharged in Nov 2009!!) but from what I have been told in here SANTANDER are t**s and not budging - i.e removing defaults/correct info on credit files - but armed with Fermi's letters I am taking them to the ICO
Read the credit file clean up and be sure to follow through and dont forget to send everything RECORDED delivery
You are not alone with these problems!
Take care
