Thank you for everyone who has given me advise and help over the last month! it has been a busy few months after a huge bill got dumped on my door for just short of 39,000 due to a mortgage short fall after my house was repo'd. After further phoning around this debt raised to 61000 due to a secured loan. i was in a low way and thought there was no way out. The people on hear were so supporting and helped me through the hard times.
The hardest time was telling my partner who was due to move in wit me in may.......
I was going down the route of an IVA and my payments were worked out to be 300 a month. I phoned my two creditors (northern rock and nemo finance) to tell them what i was doing and they offered me a payment plan for 200 - 100 respectively for full and final settlement of the account over a 5 year period. Total pay back will be 21,000 and 6,000.
I waited until this was provided in writing and have now started to pay back! (59 payments to go!!!!!!)
My life has taken a change for the better............ Due to the nature of my work i have to inform them of any money problems that i have. My boss has given me a 200 pounds a month pay rise. Which equates to me only paying back 100 to what i quoted in the IVA. My partner supported me through this and our relationship is stronger than ever and my debts will be gone in 4 years 11 months.
For everyone who is in debt and is feeling that there is no way out remember THERE IS A WAY OUT! talk to your creditors, get the advise and take it from there! Good luck and thanks again. :T :j

can I just say what a nice employer you have! The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

Would like to echo the last post you are very lucky with your employer. Likewise your creditors appear to have played ball and assisted as opposed to sticking out for more before finally agreeing. I wish you and your partner happiness for ever. Billie x:j I belong to Mike's Mob :j0
