Switch Mortgage

Hi
We stupidly re-mortgaged our house before I knew about the CCCS etc.
We ended up on a high risk mortgage which I didn't realise at the time, so we are paying a very high interest and the mortgage company are also less than helpful. We believe we are paying too much per month and that we could possibly reduce the payments.
We are considering switching but are reluctant to pay high fees. Does anyone know of respected mortgage companies who are offering deals such as 'switch and pay no fees'? I'm sure I have heard these type of deals in the past, however I seem unable to find any at the moment.
Thank you,
Vicki

Hello Vicki,
Not too sure on this one... but if you are entering into a DMP as you suggest in another thread (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=319028) I'm sorry to say that I think it may be difficult to get a good offer from another reputable mortgage provider - even if your mortgage is upto date.
I may be wrong, but does anyone else have a view on this?0 -
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate your honest opinion - it looks like I will have to look into this in more detail.0

Hello Vicki,
You may wish to try Martin's guide to remortgaging linked to at http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1157017651,88404,
There appears to be specific articles/advice for remortgaging in the circumstances you describe. Good luck!0 -
You mention CCCS in your post - don't know if you are in a DMP with them - if so, why don't you speak to them about it? I believe that they have details of providers that might be able to help.0

Hi,
Yes we are at the beginning of a DMP which starts on Jan 1st. I will call them tomorrow evening and see what they can help with.
I just thought someone on her may have any ideas or companies that are worth approaching.
We wont switch if the fees are too high.0
