we were thinking bonone as a first attempted (well acually our garden was our first attempt :rotfl:) but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions we could need somewhere proper with showers and water as we have 3 small children, and we don't wanna be in the middle of no where or they'll be bored out of there trees

What ages are the kids? I would recommend the Share Centre in Co. Fermanagh for activities and an indoor pool with sauna. There is loads to do like rock wall climbing, archery and combat games, but the emphasis is on water sports so canoeing, banana boating, windsurfing etc for £6.50 per person for a two hour session. The campsite is adjacent to an amenity block with showers, loos and a dish washing area. There are no cars allowed on the site so you do need to get all hands to the deck to help bring your stuff over to wherever you want to pitch your tent.
There are loads of campsites in N.I. Carrick Dhu in Portrush has a tent area within what I think used to be a walled garden - it's a little bit sheltered and so a real sun trap - the warden lives on site so it's safe at night - and it's within walking distance of Portrush itself.0 -
Definately join this site. Masses of information, with site reviews too as well as info on camping etc

Ah well in the case there's probably not much, other than the pool, for your two at the Share Centre, although bear it in mind when they're older. Benone is brilliant too, in a tent you have to go to Benone Tourist Complex - there is a camping area for 6 tents but I have camped in my tent in the area used mostly for caravans as I have an electric supply. There are a quite a few pitches which are suitable for tents, look up their website and click on the PDF for a siteplan. I'd recommend the pitches to either side and in between the two amenity blocks except for the pitch at the end of the second amenity block because it's a high traffic area with a through path there. Another method is just to visit the site someday and see which pitch numbers you'd be happy with.
It tends to be booked out early for key times, you're probably too late for the July Fortnight if that's when you're planning to go. I booked one year on the 13th January and got the last pitch for the July Fortnight!0 -
we tried to book benone today and it was full for first weekend in june, then tried delamont and they wont take us as our tent is too wide!!!
we have only been to castlearchdale before and our tent was small compared to most there0 -
Castle Archdale have put up their prices for tents. For a six man tent plus electricity it is £42.50 a night in high season. I would go to Drumhoney which is nearby instead. Amandajim you might consider getting another tent which fits within the 7m by 5 m pitch which most places will accept.

Golden Sands at Benone does tents as well. There is a massive field for tents there right beside the playpark. The showers and toilets are a short walk away - bring a portapotti for night-time!:hello:0

kilbroney is a good site. clean toilets and showers. Security guards patrolling. Huge park. Great play park for kids. Tennis courts. Lots of walks. Rostrevor has nice friendly pubs and grocery stores. near to warrenpoint; newcastle and kilkeel not too far... but ideal for young families. Cafe on site too!0
