Hi Everyone

Righty ho. Well, bit of history. I have 2 siamese, and have had problems with them peeing in the house.

I've got round this by shutting them in the utility room when I'm not there, where they have food, water, a bed, a catflap to the outside and a covered litter tray for when it's cold or rainy. They both happily use the tray, but not to the extent that they're not going outside as well (There isn't ever enough in there to make me think it's their first choice).

Now, the time has come for me to see how they react to moving in to my fella's house - Help! Bricking it a little bit - what if they pee there?! There isn't a catflap for them, so initially they'll have to use the tray all the time. They'd have to anyway, since I'd keep them in til they settled anyway.

Anyone got any advice about the peeing thing? I've tried various things in the past - feliway was ineffective. I have bought a little water pistol in case they do and I can catch them (I'll be with them all day every day til next week), but what if I don't catch them?? All advice would be very welcome!!

Thank you!

Foxy.

How many litter trays do they have?
The standard advice is no of cats plus one, but your two are obviously fastidious, so I would give them 4 trays - a clean tray each for each motion ;)
Moving home is a big deal for any cat - more so fore a siamese as they are so sensitive to both their humans and their environment.
If I was in your situation, I would use zylkene - start a couple of weeks prior to move if poss. Try and put familiar furniture / stuff into one room, and lock them in there while you do the rest of the moving. Also put a feliway plug in in the room 24hrs before if poss
Lots of litter trays, keep them in for 2 weeks minimum, and then go out with them, and show them how to get back in - ie open window
    Good luck x
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Very sound advice Tank girl. I used Feliway when I moved a few years back and now I too am moving, this time in with my fiance. Last time I got my Feliway at zooplus. But has anyone seen it cheaper anywhere else? Zooplus usually has the best deals I have found, but I'd like to know where else people go for this,
