Redstone mortgages won't refund my fees!

Hi,
I had a mortgage with GMAC who, last year, refunded my arrears charges in full. The same happened with DB Mortgages, who wrote and refunded all of my fees plus interest. However, Redstone say they won't refund the £50 per month arrears fees.
I was in arrears and was taken to court for repossession, but everything was paid in full and I've been up to date for 2 years now. I can't understand why DB & GMAC did, but Redstone are refusing. Is this correct? I also requested an SAR, and was told it was £30! Is this also correct?
Finally, I did notice that even though I can change my mortgage as my fixed term has expired, they still want over £1000 to redeem the mortgage, which expires on the last day of the loan! Can they do that?
Any advice gratefully received.

Maximum price of an SAR is £10, I believe, set by the Information Commissioner's Office. Check out their site for the full rundown. It looks to me like Redstone have decided to use a deterrent price, without understanding the limitations on their ability to set a price.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Subject Access Requests .....
How much does it cost?
Organisations may charge a fee of up to £10 (£2 if it is a request to a credit reference agency for information about your financial standing only).
There are special rules that apply to fees for paper based health records (the maximum fee is currently £50) and education records (a sliding scale from £1 to £50 depending on the number of pages provided).
You will have to pay a fee (if charged) for every request, so you need to specify all the information you need in your first letter, otherwise you may have to pay another fee to get information you have asked for on a different occasion.
I seem to recall a previous exception where mixed paper and computer records could incur an additional charge up to £50 (but had to individually justified) but this appears to have been withdrawn.

Yes, this is why I decided to ask them to refund my fees, but they (Redstone) say I was charged fairly. What can I do now, or should I use one of those firms who say they can get me compensation?0 -

If it's within the last 8 weeks ask them for a refund or a letter of deadlock to enable you to take them to the Financial Ombudsman (FOS).
If it's more than 8 weeks ago ask them to refund the fees within 7 days or you will take them to the FOS.
If you don't get your money back, go to the FOS.0
