Problem BT'ing from Egg to RBS

RBS Platinum card has a 0% offer just now, so we're trying to transfer a balance from Egg Money to the RBS card via the RBS online banking system.
For some reason the Egg Money card isn't being recognised, we keep getting a 'please check your card number and try again' message.
OH will phone them later on but for now, does anyone know why this is happening? Is there some reason you can't BT from Egg?

Not sure about RBS, but I applied for a lloyds 11.9% card only a week ago and the BT from Egg went through fine, although their far from speedy updating of egg money took a while to acknowledge it, the Lloyds BT was called something Blue card as well, which scared the hell out of me originally. RBS haven't had an interweb system overhaul like Halifax have they? might be related if so, teething problems and all that.

Ive just been searching the net and there was an article in the Telegraph back in January 2010 detailing the problems RBS customers were having trying to pay their Egg card credit card bills, something about their systems not being updated and weren't recognising the first 6 digits of the Egg cards. A spokeswoman stated they were working on it and it would be sorted 'next week'. A year later and it sounds like it wasn't sorted after all if this is the same issue.Herman - MP for all!0

aliasojo did you get it sorted in the end? I've been trying to do the same and getting the same error, not had chance to call RBS yet but planning to tomorrow.It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Had to phone them to get them to do it. Site just wouldn't work. They didn't seem to know anything about any issues (and clearly didn't really care either). Obviously an ongoing problem with their systems that has never been fully dealt with.Herman - MP for all!0
