It says region 2 at Argos website?
Sorry....I am not too technical.....my simple question is, is it possible to connect an external hard drive and watch movies which are stored in .avi format etc
I dont know what is XVid compatible / HDMI [what is it anyway]0 -

Not sure, would probably play if burned to DVD.....

xvid means that it would play most stuff in avi format that's been downloaded from the internet
